Stock Market Drops Again as Investors Stay Cautious

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 15.08 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,631.98. This is the latest sign that investors are still unsure about the market.

Compared to the previous day, the amount of money traded in the market also dropped—from Rs 8.91 billion to Rs 7.57 billion. Over 18 million shares were bought and sold in more than 63,000 transactions, but most companies saw their stock prices go down.

Among the sectors, the Finance group saw the biggest drop of 1.22%, followed by Development Banks, Investment, and Banking. Only the Mutual Fund sector managed to rise slightly by 0.07%.

Experts say the market is being affected by economic uncertainty and a lack of clear government policies. Many investors are waiting and watching, while some are selling their shares to take profits.

Even though the market has been shaky lately, long-term investors are being advised to stay calm and focus on diversified investments. With the government’s annual budget announcement coming soon, there’s hope that the market may recover in the near future.
