In a groundbreaking move, IndiGo, an Indian carrier, has set a new record by placing an order for 500 Airbus A320 aircraft. This remarkable purchase stands as the largest single agreement ever made by an airline in the history of commercial aviation.
IndiGo, during the Paris Airshow, revealed a significant deal valued at approximately $55 billion (£43 billion) before potential discounts for bulk orders. This substantial agreement brings IndiGo’s total order book with Airbus to 1,330 aircraft. The deal is anticipated to result in a series of deliveries from 2030 to 2035.
